More than 2800 years of history and life in this town – monument have always been in harmony, giving to the world beautifull picture of joy of life and cultural progress.
Trogir arose from ancient Tragurion, and is full of buildings and monuments testifying to its rich history.
There stands the Cathedral with its famous portal by the well-know local master Radovan, the City Loggia from the 15thcentury, the Cipiko palace, the Town Hall, and the Benedictine monastery from the year 1064, where a Greek relief is kept representing Kairos (the God of auspicious moments).
This ancient town, encircled by its powerful walls and fortresses looks like a precious jewel surrounded by the sea from all sides. That was the main reason because UNESCO pronauced the whole old town of Trogir (1997) as a monument of world inheritance.
